Yes. But where I live (New Zealand) they are vermin. Nobody goes out killing them but they eat all the native bugs and hoppers.

They are cute.
Considered one as a pet for a while.
Then discovered how many things can go wrong with their health and care.

Got chinchillas.

Back when I lived in England we used to have one living on the left side hedge in our backyard. It one of my earliest memories and first 'pet' (even though it choose to there).

I used to have a hedgehog. They're strange animals, but I liked it...it was super-cute!!

But we dont have them here in the States so ive never really known one as a 'person'.
