I only watch it for the "bloopers", too bad the auditions aren't long enough.

the same station that shows 24, tut tut tut... i watched it in the beginning and then i realized how annoying and cheesy the show can be.

I have a love hate relationship with it.
I enjoy seeing undiscovered talent become discovered, I just don't like the process of it.

I see no good reason to purposely shame and embarrass people for ratings.

Most of those people choose to be shamed and embarrassed. They intentionally sing badly because they think it would be fun to be on TV, which, of course, makes it not funny at all because it's so obvious that they're just acting.

I think that's why people like the show. A show solely about singing would be boring to many people, so they add "humor" to draw in the masses.

American idol blows chunks. Except when Simon Cowell is telling people how much they suck... I think he's too nice.

my mom was watching regis and kelly this morning and they did a piece on american idol. they pre-audition the people before they even come on the show. makes me wonder why the people aren't totally confused when they're told they're horrible.
