My cousin has had some problems with this guy in her office being pretty inappropriate with her,(sexual comments which he has made an effort to stop making) but she's a pretty successful woman and she's dealt with all kinds of problematic people before. Recently she did something pretty hilarious... though.

She had some books in her bag and on her desk that lead him to the conclusion she's studying the Chickasaw language... and he asked "What's my name in Chickasaw?" and she told him it was Tohbi Ofi’, which is basically Ofi’ Tohbi(the structure in Chickasaw would be Ofi' Tohbi) which means “white dog” and I’m laughing so hard right now. She and I and most of our family identify both as white and as Chickasaw. We don't have to be one or the other, she doesn't dislike white people or men etc.

I can’t even fathom how someone would think a Native American Tribal language that is nearly dead would have some special translation for his English name. It's like people who say "WHAT'S MY NAME IN KOREAN?" or whatever.

I understand her reasons for allowing him to continue to work under her but I don't think I could deal with someone who doesn't comprehend such basic stuff about what is or isn't appropriate in the workplace. Meh, what do I know about working in law, though?
