I don't know how hard you hit your father when you did in your teen years, but I think it's not that uncommon particularly for teenagers to have physical fights with the family..
That's true and I didn't think about that. Almost every guy I know got into a physical fight with his dad when he was a teenager. It's almost like a rite of passage. My oldest got into it with his dad when he was 16 or 17 and that was that. It never happened again. My youngest son seems like it's coming up though. He's a real smart alec and takes everything very personally and blows everything out of proportion. My husband loses patience with him and my son throws a fit. It wont be long, I'm sure. I don't know who will win that one. The first one was basically a draw. My husband was drunk and my son was 16 or 17. They hit each other a bunch and fell into the washer and my sons friend separated them. My youngest son, while he's not big, he's very muscular and very strong and he's the youngest boy in a big family and been picked on a lot. He is the type to go balls to the wall in a fight so I really hope that doesn't happen. Or if it does, then it happens when I'm not here.
Don't feel bad about it Jamesy. It's something a lot of guys go through and it's over with now. Don't let people guilt you into feeling bad about something in the past that's over and done with and you can't change.
I honestly think it was low of your brother to use ya'lls dead grandmother as a way to make you feel bad. I mean come on. Maybe if she were to come back from the dead she would tell him don't do that.
You did what you did, it's over with and obviously your dad got over it. Let it go sweetie, guilt over the past doesn't ever help anybody.
