One thing I find annoying that NT people seem to enjoy is having conversations during meals. I always just find it annoying because I'd rather focus on my yummy food. It's even more annoying when they ask questions while food is in my mouth and I have to either talk with my mouth full or finish chewing before answering.

It's very annoying, I'd rather not get asked "what've you been up to?" while I'm trying to enjoy my limited burrito, or hear my mom's complaints about the repairman not working fast enough.

Also, dinner-dates are annoying because they keep asking me questions while I'm trying to eat some very yummy food, I'd much rather have a coffee-date where one naturally takes only periodic sips during lulls in the conversation. Whenever I get my own food/eat a snack I always take it to my room to enjoy in silence.

Just a small trivial rant. Anyone else feel that way? xD

I think I have a similar way of thinking.

One thing I don't like is that saliva might be getting into food when people talk during a meal. I find it disgusting. So this is from a little different perspective.

Also, I don't like people distracting me from the joy of eating by unnecessarily talking to me. There were times when I went to a café with other people and I happened to find a really delicious slice of cake (e.g. lemon lime brulée). I just wanted to appreciate the good taste of the cake, but other people didn't allow me to fully focus on it. They pretty much ruined my joy and I felt a bit frustrated and angry. Of course I knew they didn't do it on purpose and so I didn't show my frustration. But I had to go back to the café again by myself to truly enjoy the cake without any distraction. I think this is similar to your experience.

I find small chit-chat and gossip annoying no matter what I am doing. But this is a large part of high school life, thankfully I am on the periphery rather than the center of all this.
