The Other Side of Genesis

Here's a little something I wrote. Let me know what you think. I mean no disrespect to God at all, I just thought I'd use a little bit of irreverent humor to get yall to think.

In the beginning, there were various species of hominoids in verious places on the Earth. The hominoids interbred freely between the species and became the hybrids that today are known as the Homo sapiens. The different genetic lines dispersed to different places on the Earth, and each genetic line had a distinct physical appearance and lived in a particular region on the Earth. In the region of Eden were the Jews, with Adam and Eve being the first to genetically mutate. Then there were the Nephilim, and they were big and hairy like Bigfoot. The Edomites were hairy too, but other races were not.

There was one genetic line, however, that was different. Nobody knows what region of the Earth they came from. They didn't have a distinct physical appearance – every individual was different. Their way of thinking was different than the other hominoids too. They were constantly testing the limits of what was considered socially acceptable. They argued amongst themselves, but they bonded through their irreverent sense of humor and knew that their kind was neccessary to sustain humanity. They had no name because everyone saw them as freaks and each other race had a different name for them.

While they were still few in number and still lived in the same region, the Lord raised up a prophet among them. The prophet said to the people, "These other people who live around us but are not our kind are going to self-destruct and kill us off if we don't infiltrate them. Their straight and narrow attitude will be their demise.

"So I say to each of you, go to the people your physical appearance most closely resembles and live among them and produce children. Then cause trouble. Test the limits of what the people you're living amongst consider socially acceptable behavior. Offend people. Call people out on their stupidity. Be as eccentric as you can possibly be. But don't forget your sense of humor. You and your offspring will be persecuted, but as long as you stay clever and use your intelligence and humor, your most basic needs will be met.

"You are the professional troublemakers. You will do evil, but you will also do good. Good and evil are relative anyways. But as long as you keep passing on your mischievous spirit, your kind will always exist. There must always be an opposite to the ordinary. You will not have a culture of your own, but will be the counterculture in every culture. You will recognize each other, and as surely as the Lord lives, your people will never die out."

So most of the people did what the Lord told the prophet to tell them to do because they reasoned through it and it made logical sense. The people without a homeland or a name infiltrated the cultures surrounding them and became known by many names. Those who didn't settle down became nomads and some traveled in small bands and some traveled alone, but they caused trouble wherever they went. So it was that their people never died out and are still around today.

They may not have a place but they have a purpose. They create balance. They keep the righteous in check and expose hypocracy through cunning means. They are the Clowns of Death but bring life to those who need it. They get away with anitcs that the average person couldn't get away with, like putting on obscenely funny Halloween concerts or writing a parody of the Book of Genesis.

Okay. What other people are you referring to?

And there is no empirical evidence that Adam, Eve or Nephilim ever existed.

And Adam and Eve were not Jews because they were gentiles.

And what prophet are you referring to?

This is just complete rubbish.

I thought this was going to be about Peter Gabriel's secret punk sea-shanty techno album.

It's a work of fiction, I wrote it. It's not meant to be taken literally or as historical fact. I meant it as symbolism, to make you laugh and make you think, to make you see the other side of things. I never claimed that any of it actually happened in real life.

Adam and Eve were the first humans.
The first Jews only came a couple thousand years later with Abraham.

So your bible knowledge needs some brushing up.

Your science is also a little off. The prehistoric hominids were mostly pushed to extinction by our one lineage. Though there was SOME interbreeding with neanderthals and denisovians. But mostly it was all about trimming off the branches off the family tree, and not reabsorbing ( or hybridizing ) them.

you're trying to do something like Thorton Wilder's play "By the Skin of Teeth" which mixes ancient mythology (including the bible) with science ( the Ice Ages), and recent history (world wars) in a surreal comedy about how the human race has survived successive cataclysms.

you're trying to mix the bible and evolution into an allegory about 'the origin of aspies".

And... HEY! Didnt Darwin write a book of that title?
