I usually get a six-inch white bread sandwich with turkey and mustard, and sometimes cheese. That's why I sometimes get embarrassed whenever I walk into a particular Subway I frequently go to because the employees know me for the fact that I always order the same thing.

I think Subway is disgusting and when I worked there I wouldn't eat the food. Mass produced and low quality. All of their food is packed with chemicals and preservatives and isn't nearly as fresh as the commercials try to make you believe. I remember how disgusting the packaged meats smelled when I would open a new package; like toilet water. It's still fast food just like McDonalds, Jack in the Box, etc and after you make it a footlong, add the cheese and sauces and get the "meal deal" it's basically the same amount of calories as any of those others places.

All Subways are also franchised out (usually to cheapskate greedy penny pinching owners) who want to cut corners to save themselves money so our owner was having us change the dates on our food containers on a daily basis to keep food waste down. The official requirements were that we were to discard any food in the bins that were more than 48 hours old but that wasn't happening. Also, it wasn't just our Subway doing that practice. According to what I have read on various places of the internet it is very common among many other Subways in the US.

Yes, I blew the whistle to the health department (among other things) but they ended up getting away with it and to this day are still changing the dates on their food containers. It's hard to prove when they write the dates with those washable white wax type pencils. I'm quite relieved to no longer be at that hell hole.

I get the veggie sub with no onions. I do agree that their meat/eggs are gross.

I haven't eaten at a Subway in about twelve years! The nearest Subway to me now would cost about $15 in gas just to go there and return. That makes for an awfully expensive sandwich.

When I did live near them and eat, I preferred either the roast beast or the tuna.

I went into one Subway and ordered a tuna sandwich. The employee couldn't find a scoop to put the tuna on the sandwich so he grabbed one out of the sink and used it without washing it. Once he had the sandwich made, I told him to throw it away and make me a roast beast sandwich. He didn't understand why I wouldn't eat a tuna sandwich when the tuna had been scooped onto the sandwich with a dirty utensil.

At another Subway, they had these two girls running the place on Friday and Saturday nights. Those two girls were two of the filthiest people I have ever met. They would only clean off the counter surface where they fixed the sandwiches at closing time. And they spilled a lot of things. The result was that a couple of hours into their shift, the counter area where they fixed the sandwiches would be an inch deep in things like lettuce and meats that they spilled from previous sandwiches. It was truly disgusting. On several occasions before I learned to identify them, I walked in, waited in line, got up to the counter, looked at it, and then turned around and left.

I love Jimmy John's! I hate the way they all have to scream "hello" when anyone walks in though. That is just painful and awkward.

I had one yesterday while at work (what I described in my previous post + honey mustard sauce). And it's likely that I have it again today. My colleagues said they liked chicken fillet and seafood.

I mentioned to my colleague the disgusting practice at Subway mentioned earlier by someone in this thread. He said that that only happens in the US though something like that happens at KFC here.

My favorite Subway sandwich is one that's both free and freshly-made.
