This makes a lot of sense as I hate playing to gender stereotypes. I am often made to feel I'm not feminine enough and I relate to both men and women on certain levels, but tend to get on with men better than women. So I am in the middle generally, responding to things more as a person, not specifically as a woman.

That is true. Although I am female and do have mostly female characteristics, I do have some male characteristics that label me as a tomboy, and therefore I can relate to both sexes.
