Anyone else enjoy a certain amount of hunger?

I like the feeling in my head I get on and off when I've gone for 8-14 hours without eating anything. It's not always constant but if I feel light-headed even for a moment I enjoy it. It feels good to me. I imagine that after 36 hours it might become much more unpleasant. It becomes mildly unpleasant towards the end of a 25 hour fast which is something I've only ever done for charity. It'd probably get worst but there's a period during which it kind of feels good.

Does anybody else know what I'm talking about?

I've heard of the phenomenon, but don't care to try it myself. I go from disinterest in food to NEED FOOD NOW as soon as hunger hits.

I don't experience quite what you're talking about, but I find that if I'm in a constant state of very mild hunger rather than being completely satiated, I'm more energetic and clear-headed.
I'm thinking maybe it's a survival thingy: less fuel, and your body provides you with the energy etc. to go find more.

Yes I get that as well. I have more motivation. I feel lighter. I'm never in a rut when I'm hungry and I'm often in a rut.

NO!! !! ! I eat 5 meals a day, and I get in a very nervous, anxious, and even nasty mood if I fail to eat on time.

I feel the same way. I don't really care how many meals I eat, but I need a fixed amount of proteins and a fixed amount of calories everyday. Also, I must eat 2—4 hours before my workouts.

I have a bad habit of eating constantly while I'm awake. I don't have any fixed-time meal. I'm just eating all the time. As a result, my stomach feels kind of full all the time, which ruins the joy of eating. So when I somehow happen to be hungry, (which often happens after work as I don't usually eat when I'm at work,) I feel very happy because food tastes tastier when I'm hungry.
