I was thinking of trying temporary dreadlocks, to get an idea of how it looks and feels. I'm not sure if it'd look good on me, some say it would, others say it wouldn't.

A friend said that it'd make me look less ''approachable'' and more ''alternative'', but he is close-minded (thinks all goths cut themselves...) and somewhat prejudgemental.

But in fact, being less ''approachable'' is actually now 1 of my arguments to try dreadlocks light and spend the money, because I feel uncomfortable being asked out by strangers. Pro's for me at this point:
-I think it'd look nice
-Keeps stranger away
-Kills any expectations of me being ''normal'', or the ''average NT girl type'' (I don't mean this arrogant, I just don't know how to express it)
-Less bad hair days (my hair is awful...)

Cons:
-Kind of expensive
-Might be associated with extreme leftists (though I don't eat meat and very few animal products, but for the rest...)

So what do you think? Do you have (had) dreadlocks, partially dreadlocks, temporary dreadlocks etc? If so, how did you like them?

How do people respond in general, IF they respond at all?

I don't have, them but my daughter did for years, she grew her own.The minuses are they are heavy, they are hard to clean and take a long time to dry.Depending where you live people may or may not stare. She has cut hers off,she was doing a lot of surfing and they got in her way.Hers were very long,to the middle of her back.I would think they would be lumpy to sleep on.Her boyfriend at the time had even longer ones,to his waist.

No, won't be stared at here :) I guess the ''work'' and ''effort'' are a downside... Hmm.

I might get them when my hair is longer! I think they are very cute, you should get them! downide is hard to clean though, I heard... and you might need to shave your head when you want to get rid of them, depending on your hair type they might or might not be able to pick them out.
