Ok so from my understanding I have an autism spectrum disorder and/or developmental disability which oviously shows I have trouble functioning in society. But intrestingly enough I have undergone quite a few blood tests and such to test weird things about me.....first they said I had some issue that resembeled Muscular Dystrophy.....I don't have that they have found out....but apparently I have an unusual muscle structure that somehow does not cause any other real problems for me.
But the term that has been thrown around is 'genetic mutation' so what does that mean I'm a freaking mutant with powers I have yet to unleash? lol ok just being imaginative there. But I do find it all unusual none the less. Has anyone else undergone any wierd blood tests and crap I guess I am just curious how often people on the spectrum have had other medical tests done and such to determine what the underlying issue is.

Tis the time to melt the Ice.
I googled 'muscular dystrophy' because its the first time Ive heard about it since I was in gradeschool decades ago (there was a national charity drive to get kids to stage backyard festivals to raise money for researching a cure back in the sixties- havent heard about it much in the media since).
But now that ive read about it on wiki Im an 'expert' (lol!)!
It can be a horrible disease.
But apparently the subject gets complicated because the condition comes in atleast a dozen forms.
Long story short- like hemophilia- in some versions of MD- the gene is on the X chromosome- so it needs the normal gene on the matching X chromosome to override it. So like hemophelia its sex-linked:boys get the manifest version of the disease more often than do girls.
If you were a guy- with only the stubby Y chromosome to pair up with the full length X- you would probably be dead now ( or tragically bad off if alive) because you would not have a normal gene to over ride the MD gene. And you would have gotten the full blown version of the condition.
Since you're a girl you have that matching X gene to suppress your MD. So you have either no symptoms of MD. Or you have relatively benign symptoms. Those symptoms might include/explain your aspergers-like behavior. So you may indeed have 'found' a unique path to the autism spectrum (via MD) thats a little different than the 'path' that most of us have 'taken' to get to autism (so to speak).
Kinda interesting actually.
I don't know what we are.
I've been called "A breath of fresh air" by both my GP, and the specialist who diagnosed me with Aspergers.

We, the people on the Autistic Spectrum have a choice.
We can either try to "fit in" with the rest of society, or we can be so egocentric that we can't be bothered.
I choose the actor. I observe NT's. I listen to their socializing. I practice it, so in social situations I can just emulate/mimic what is expected.
It isn't natural for me, but it enables me to "fit in".
It is VERY tiring and draining, but at least we can appear like them even though it is an act. Like being on the stage.
They can't see it is emulation, and so we are accepted.

Sounds like it could also be hypotonia which has a higher than non-autistic comorbidity rate among those on the autism spectrum. I'd link to the study that showed it but that link is bookmarked on another computer than the one I'm on.
