I have a fear of fire escapes and walking down stairs. Walking down fire escapes is... not good, to say the least. I don't like elevators either, because if those things break or get stuck, it would be a nightmare.

Look up the back threads of "general autism discussion" and you will find a whole thread about the fear of buttons. Not on/off switches on appliances. But those cute little things that fasten your clothes. A sizable population here on WP has that phobia, And there doesnt even seem to be a name for it.

I asked one poster "which is worse: holding a spider in your hand? Or holding a button in your hand?" They admitted that the spider would be worse, but only slightly.

Now I'm debating whether or not I should post pics of my homemade plush toys... They will have buttons for eyes when I get around to finishing them. On one hand I'd like to show off my work, but on the other... I don't want to give anybody nightmares. 8O
