Being on this forum makes me feel self centred.

I always feel a bit awkward and maybe even guilty when I am on this forum. I rarely talk about myself in everyday life. Partly because I feel selfish and self centred if I talk too much about myself and partly because I am a total introvert and fairly uncommunicative. Words don't come easy to me.

However, when I am on this forum I can't help but notice that I use the word "I" an awful lot. I am constantly rambling on about myself here, like I'm the centre of the universe. Very irritating and almost sickening. I would very much like to help others here but since I have entered another bad stage in life I am unable to find the answers that could be of any use to others. The horrible thing is that this does not limit my visits to this forum. The need to unload seems to be getting stronger and stronger.

Don't be ashamed for talking about yourself. The whole purpose of this site is to provide a way for Aspies to connect and get support for their issues.

Absolutely.

WP exists because we need someone to 'talk' to who understands.

Sometimes, WP is the only place to express what no NT will ever be able to completely understand because they just don't think like us.

So feel welcome, say what you want to, or need to; get it all off of your chest....we understand!

I agree with Shakarians and Sylkat. You are welcome to say whatever you want to say as long as it's not against the rule of this site. Talking only about yourself is certainly not against the rule. Most of us talk a lot about ourselves, too.

That's one of the things I like about WP. I can ramble on about myself without worrying about, "Am I talking about myself too much?" I don't know much about anything else, anyway so I have to talk about myself or else shut up completely.

I know what you mean. I do it too. Me, me, me but I wouldn't do it in real life, no way.
