About a month and a half ago, I dislocated my elbow by falling off of my bicycle, after having both of my tires lose pressure. I can already hyper-extend my arms/elbows due to having loose tendons, and landed on my hand, pushing that hyper-extension just a little too far. I was taken to the hospital, where they fixed my elbow so that it was back in its proper place, and gave me a brace and a sling.

About a week later, my mother and I went to an orthopedics center, to come to the conclusion that I would need surgery to avoid further injury, and it took place 3 days later. Jump ahead about 2 weeks, and I'm at the orthopedics center again, starting the very first steps of rehab therapy, to regain full motion of my arm. I've slowly been getting better, but not as much as the therapist would like, so I have increased my daily routines that I was instructed to do, so as to get where I am supposed to be.

The person I'm working with says that I have a high pain tolerance, which I do (to a point), but I'm only able to take so much, and the excersizes I've been doing really bring out the pain receptors in my nerves. She (the therapist) says that this Tuesday (August 6th) we will start doing additional things, in order to gain further range of motion, and she admitted to me that it would hurt quite a bit.

So, now to my question - is there any way that I can replace the concentrated pain in my elbow with some other sort of stimulus? I've been turning on music and using my headphones, though it doesn't seem to be working too well.

I'd really appreciate any sort of suggestions that the community has to offer
