I am holding a meet-up in Manchester City Centre on 24 August 2013.

I am open to suggestions but the general plan is as follows:

  • 11:00: Meet at Manchester Piccadilly train station (map). I will be in Starbucks in the station from 10:40 onwards.
  • 11:30: Walk to Brazil Street, just before the river.
  • 11:40: Arrive at Linda's Pantry, a greasy spoon café on Ducie Street, not far from the station.
  • 12:30: Take Metrolink from Piccadilly to Salford Quays.
  • 13:00: Enter Imperial War Museum North (alternative option: go to a nearby café/bar in Salford Quays for those that simply wish to socialise or else spend time in the Lowry)
  • 15:00-15:15: Make way back to Manchester City Centre.
  • 15:35-ish: Go for a drink at Knott Bar on Deansgate. It's literally less than a minute from the Metrolink..
  • 17:30 to 18:30: My tenure as host officially will come to an end - other people can continue drinking or go elsewhere if they wish, but I have to get back to Preston!

I will be wearing a distinctive yellow and purple striped scarf at Piccadilly train station. If anyone has any questions, comments or suggestions, please let me know.

I will provide the number in advance to all those who are attending and on the day, my mobile phone will be switched on at all times.

This will be a joint unofficial meet-up that is also being advertised on Aspie Village (Aspie Village).

There must be an absolute minimum of five people - from the two sites - who are interested in attending. If there are less than five people who have applied to come before 19 August 2013, the meeting will be cancelled. If it is cancelled, I will let people know here. So keep yer eyes peeled!

Looking forward to seeing you all there!

Excellent. I would suggest to budget for £20-£30 for the meal though. It's at a proper café type place.

Looking forward to it!

I've changed the schedule slightly and replaced the upscale café with a greasy spoon.
