I have a petition for anyone interested in signing, it is to help ban fish dying. If you do sign, the site will automatically ask you to donate money at the end, if you don''t have any money to donate, just shut the site down. You don't need to donate to be able to sign the petition!! here is the link- http://www.ipetitions.com/petition/HELP ... index.html

Here are some examples, of what I mean by the dying of fish. The pictures were taken by a fellow fish forum member.

Yes, it is most definitely a stoopid thing to do, but people are buying them and when there is a market, the sellers wont stop!

Have you heard about a Betta in a vase? These are tropical fish thus requiring a thermostat. Here is a pic :x

The whole thing of fishing dying and bettas in a vase and the evil torture chambers known as Biocubes is cruel.

The dying shortens the life of the fish placing tremendous strain on the kidneys and liver and the injection of it probably traumatizes it. If you want a colorful fish get a naturally colorful species like a gourami or barb and give it good quality fish food like Hikari that contains things like krill that enhance their pigments. Also certain spectrum fluorescent bulbs will bring out different hues in fish.

Bettas are more happy in a filtered tank that has either a light or heater as in their natural environment they would be living in around 80F deg waters even a little warmer than the average tropical. When they have a small filter in tank it creates a current that they will love to swim in and they will build rippling pectorial muscles in a couple weeks. A skilled fish hobbiest can get them to live peacefully in a large community tank with the right mix of neighbors. They love planted tanks with lots of rocks and caves. They are very inquisitive fish and will lurk around every nook and cranny spying on the other fish. They are fun to watch.

Typical NT cruelty. They probably laugh about it.

I don't like those bio-cubes/bi-Orbs either, I would only recommend them for very small tetras and No other type of fish. Goldfish need quite big tanks, some people have a view of a goldfish living happy in a bowl but they die young due to organ failure. So if anyone has a goldfish keep it in a tank, it will tank you for it. :P

As for those little b@stard$, they should be disgusted with themselves!

I more interested to see a petition against the slavery of bees that make honey.

Gold fish need a tank instead of a bowl, because in a tank you can provide them with oxygen and in a bowl, you probably can't.

Otherwise, I'm not signing the meaningless petition.

I honestly don't care if you sign or not. If you put up a petition about bees, guess what, I would sign it. I am for animal rights. So why the hell don't you! go ahead a make a petition and stop giving out about mine.

Do you own fish, if so, how big of tank do you have them in? Are you ever going to set them free, if you have any? Are you against holding fish in captivity? I mean if you own fish, those fish are in a restricted unnatural environment and there for your own pleasure.

Are you for animal rights or a more humane way to treat animals? Animal rights is to protect non-human animals from being used or regarded as property of humans.

Fish have no emotions, and lack the ability to feel pain. I am against animal cruelty (I don't even like to crush bugs, I prefer to set them outside gently) but I believe we should concern ourselves with more genuine concerns such as human hunger rather then fish who have no concept of anything.

(source link on info that fish do not feel pain)
