Data from Star Trek, my hero and role-model.

He is the model by which all Aspies should live by.

I personally think I and him have alot in common with each other: Poor social skills, really good at calculations and math, both passionate about improving the self, lack of imagination. Being an android has huge-ass advantages as well :D. We both are just trying to be "human", whatever that means.

I've always though the TV character I could best relate to is Data.

A lot of people like us watch Star Trek, that is why they made a character like him.

Data annoyed me to no end in the series. He was a lot cooler in the movies though.

So long as we're not trying to be Worf though, it's all good.

Why would one aspire to lack social skills?

Reason very but this is a reason for some:

Quote:
Schizoid
People with schizoid personality disorder avoid relationships and do not show much emotion. They genuinely prefer to be alone and do not secretly wish for popularity. They tend to seek jobs that require little social contact. Their social skills are often weak and they do not show a need for attention or acceptance. They are perceived as humorless and distant and often are termed "loners."

Well, my role model (as much as Data is one of my favourite Star Tek characters) is:

the Doctor!

C'mon, he's almost Aspie. Remember what he sometimes says, re Rose's family?

"I don't do domestics."

or

"I don't do families."

Yeah, well, the holo-Doctor was one of my favourites from Star Trek as well. But I'm talking about Doctor Who.

My emotion chip is malfunctioning. I am happy to have found Spot yet I am crying.

Counselor Troi: I think your emotion chip is working just fine.
