I guess that would depend on what the alien was doing...

If it's one of those roving interstellar (or interdimensional) amateur proctologists I think I would share the famous quote with him:

Depends on the circumstances of the meeting.

If they just knocked on my door like Jehovah's Witnesses, and were unarmed and acted friendly I might invite them in. Then ask them about the universe, and about what they think of us as a species. Offer them some cognac. Chat with them about thier planet, and their history as a species. And just chill out and hang with them.

But most folks who claim to encounter Grays do so under very unequal circumstances. The aliens have them chemically hog tied, and captive in their space ships, and are probeing them like human game wardens probe animals. Nasty. But there would be nothing you could do about it but endure it.

Grays are probably demons, so I think I would tell them to leave, in the name of Jesus Christ, and see what happens.

When I used to have dreams of things like that, I painted a picture of it, 'blessed' whatever in me that attracted it, and told it to leave and never come back. I still have the painting on my iPad, but it no longer scares me at all. And, the dreams went away finally.

If he was crouching in a corner, bleeding, and obviously in pain, I'd call an ambulance.

If he seemed menacing with exposed fangs I'd haul ass.

I I came face to face with a "Grey alien" I'd probably give it a poke with my finger to make sure it is really there & solid.
If it was; then I'd try to communicate.

I choose the actor. I observe NT's. I listen to their socializing. I practice it, so in social situations I can just emulate/mimic what is expected.
It isn't natural for me, but it enables me to "fit in".
It is VERY tiring and draining, but at least we can appear like them even though it is an act. Like being on the stage.
They can't see it is emulation, and so we are accepted.
