Mine is:
The human species was indeed purposefully produced by aliens by genetically modifying existing apes. This was to produce a dominant species that would have an advantage, so its population would proliferate over the planet. Forming a vast mobile mass of organic material. When the human population reaches saturation point, the aliens will send transport vessels and lure humans onto the crafts. Transport the cargo to their home planet where the payload will be used to supplement their own diminished organic reserves. With such high population levels, by the time the crafts return for the next load, the human stock will have naturally restored. This process repeating for millennia until the human population depletes and dies out due to starvation of organic resources on this planet. Providing a constant supply to the aliens of all accessible organic material from this planet, without so much as lifting a shovel.
The alien abductions are a monitoring regime by the aliens to ensure the desired chemical content of human physiology. The secret bases concealing alien technology and beings, are not only to study their technology to develop a defence, but also to interrogate the aliens to learn the desired chemistry of humans. The pharmaceutical industry, food chemical industry, genetic research and bio-warfare research are covert initiatives to alter human physiology, and hence the chemical composition, to render the human organism less viable for alien harvesting.
