I convinced my Theatre teacher to let me borrow his keys, which I used to unlock the pit (part of auditorium underneath the audience & stage, more or less the basement). It is old and hasn't been used in many years since before I came in and before he started teaching. The lights I turned on were dim, the floor was covered in grafiti and rocks, and instead of stairs there was a ramp made of old, bendy wooden planks. I wanted to go down, but I was too nervous just because no one was with me.

How do I be more brave by myself?

Try taking small steps in bravery, just challenge your comfort zone a little at a time. Eventually your phobia of such places will subside.

A little farther down each time... thats a good idea, though I dont know how many times I can borrow the keys before the teacher figures out IM going down there. Its not exactly safe, or strucurally sound.
