I mean writing wrong yaer

I have always made such mistakes, Not yet got used that we have year 2014

Oh yeah, happens to me every January....I get used to it eventually, though. It's nice to know I'm not the only one.

I do that too, especially during my school years when I had to write the date on my assignments. I did overcome this as time went by.

Happens to me, too. Hopefully it won't happen too much as 2013 was a bad year for me and best forgotten.

I'm dyslexic & seldom need to write dates so I'm never quite sure for a couple months lafter New Year's

I think that it has to do with the lack of adherence to ISO 8601:

I can appreciate the humour of that XKCD comic, but I can't help but think of how the Chinese basically state the date in the order 'year, month, day' to begin with, as in "2014年一月七号" (i.e. 2014, January, the 7th day). Going from big to small, so to speak.

It certainly make sorting spreadsheets by date much easier, especially what the cells are formatted as 'text' rather than 'date'.

I mean, when counting in order, no one goes: ... 123013, 123113 *** 010114, 010214 ...

Instead, it's: ... 131230, 131231 *** 140101, 140102 ...

When programming I tend to use strings in the format yyyymmddhhmmss which makes processing and sorting much easier. It is also my preferred way of storing dates to file. The only complications arise when you need to calculate the time difference between two dates so you can either write your own functions for this or use those embedded within the system itself.

Handling international data can be a pain. Americans format dates differently to the rest of the world and numbers can be bad too - some countries use a comma instead of a decimal point and use a decimal point as a thousand separator. It all makes for chaos unless you know the source and exact formatting of data.

It does take a while for me to get used to the year changing. But today I wrote the date as 7.6.14 (7th June 2014). I don't know how that happened.

I believe there are maybe 3 people in the world who DON'T do that every time the year changes.
