so i was teaching my bio lab thur....

and we were talking about breast cancer. there are these genes (Brca1 and Brca2) that play a role in some breast cancers...

well, being the visual thinker i am... i have this picture of a huge pink over-the-shoulder-bolder-holder... to represent these genes...

the whole time i was talking about these genes to the class, i kept referring to them as "bra" genes....

and no one said anything lol

Not necessary. Men can get breast cancer. I should know, I’m male, and I had a lump in my left breast and was very close to being cancer, luckily it was benign. It was removed about 3 years ago.

And once in college (no one in my neck o' the woods knew about lysdexia back then) I mentioned McLuhan's motto: "the medium is the message." Teachy scolded me: "That's Massage!" I felt stoopid indeed. Was a mistransliterated character wot done it.
