i was told that i did not talk until 3 years old, and i said one sentence and then did not talk again for months.
i have no memory of the event and i have less than total faith in the credibility of my sister (11 years older than me) and mother who relayed the story to me.

i apparently liked eggs, and my mother was going to cook some eggs for herself and my sister and me, and she asked my sister how she wanted them done. she did not ask me because it was expected that i could not talk, but i wanted them scrambled so i interrupted and said "scrambled. i want them scrambled".

i think i knew how to talk long before i bothered to do so.
anyway, although this seems ironic, it is (allegedly) true that my first word was "scrambled".

eggs are like liquid sunshine.

the way i most like eggs is for them to be soft boiled in a saucepan for 3 minutes and 20 seconds. that way the albumen is white and firm, and the yolk is runny. i also cook a large slice of toast when the eggs are ready and i butter the toast liberally, and i cut the toast into 6 strips. i always cook 2 eggs, so the first three strips are used for the first egg, and the second three are used for the second egg.

warm yolk on buttered toast is a heavenly taste.

That's also how I like my eggs. soft boiled eggs are the best. I also like them scrambled. :)

I don't really know how old I was when I said my first word, my mum said she doesn't remember or know either, it was likely something like '' Hello! '' or '' Bye ! '' as thats all I could really say until I was 4 or 5 when my mum got me to see a speech therapist.

My sister's first word was tractor. I guess she learned it by watching Sesame Street with me. She was a little over a year old.
