I need help finding obscure books

I'm looking for hard to find books. It's essential that digital copies of the books don't exist and that the books have been out of print for a long time (At least fourty or fifty years, but the longer they've been out of print the better).

So, if any of you know of places where I might find such books, please tell me. Thank you in advance

If you're looking for a specific title or author I recommend abebooks.com, but for old books in general there's no beating a good bookstore.

I'm not looking for a specific book or even the work of a specific author. I just need a selection of extremely obscure books; books that one cannot find online, have been out of print for at least half a century and were not well known even at the time they were released.

You see, It's for... I suppose you could call it an art piece... I intend to incorperate various forms of digital media as well as certain analog pieces. The end result is hard to describe concisely. I tried describing it to my dad over dinner just a few hours ago and he just told me to stop "talking at" him. My neighbor and I had a discussion about it early this afternoon and it took some time and effort to convey the idea to him properly...

Of course, the books will not have any physical alterations made to them. They'll just be given new life in the digital realm.

This is what I would do:

1) Find what bookstores are in your area.
2) See if any of them have old books.
3) Have some way to check the internet when you go browsing to see if it's available digitally.
4) Acquire books.

Where I used to live in Utah, there was one bookstore that had two store fronts. One for collectors with books from as far back as the 1800's, and the other was for more modern works.

Here where I live now, there are two book stores that I know of that would have older books. But there are dozen more that don't.
