Isn't it great? A mammal with a beak that lays eggs and venom glands in its claws. I think it also has electrical sensors in its bill (correct me if I'm wrong on that)as well and swims with its eyes shut. I think we can relate to the platypus. It's not what its supposed to be. I think I will make it my new mascot.

I love platypusses. The males have venom glands, but not the females. I've never seen one, as they were hiding when we went to see them on camp one year. There's a platypus on our 20 cent coin! :)

I really want to visit Australia. Its at the top of my list. What area are you from? I think Australians and Americans have a lot in common---former british colonies, frontiersman, cowboys (though maybe you call them something different), very open socially. Also Australia is probably more politically similar to America than is Britain, though Britain and Australia are more similar to each other than to America.

The platypus' oddness is highly significant,

if we knew what it is significant of we would be far better off.

I'm from South Australia. But don't go by my profile, as it's a fake location. I live in a small rural city near Adelaide, the capital of SA. I live right near the River Murray, which starts at the Blue Mountains(I think) and ends at the Murray Mouth. :)
