Do you pay attention to the poster when you read a post??
I find I don't on forums. I learn nobody's "online personality" from forums, or get any friends off forums, etc.
I sometimes send ppl a PM off their post, but still generally have no idea who they are. I just need to ask something or w/e from their post.
Also i am curious; how do u guys view me, my "online personality" (if i have one)?

I make sure to read posts, as then I can learn more about peoples' online personalities. My online personality is a lot different than that of my offline personality. I'm usually loud, hyper, silly and always in a good mood. But online, I tend to be hyper and a little cold towards people. It doesn't take me long to get to know people online, because I'm very curious and love asking people questions.

Not had time to get to know your 'online personality' Matt271. I get to know people very slowly and it takes me a long time. I pay more attention to what people say rather than what their personality is like.

I typically look most of the time unless I'm feeling lazy. ;)

Do I pay attention to the poster?

Yes. Context is everything.

If a post is especially overlong, then no as I have not the concentration or energy to devote to reading essay length posts, seriously. It takes me hours just to get through the rest of the forum. But I do notice certain people if they take my interest with what they post. So...some will get a lot of my attention...others will just blend into one another as a mass, bad as that sounds. I simply cannot pay attention to every poster.

I skip through long posts, as they take too long to read.

I do both, paying attention to the contents and the reader,
as Starr says, it takes a lot of time to get to know people a little,
but there is no hurry I suppose...

And maybe it's not as social as real life with the same conventions like 'saying hello and goodbye" and everything but as Aspergers we don't really need that kind of stuff in order to be
together, do we? Anyway, I do like being here
:D

There is also a difference between the forums, Random or Art or Members, etc has a different athmosphere I think.

I do, but sometimes I forget and look at the poster and go 'Wow, that changes the post entirely!'

I always look at who the poster is. I think it goes along with when I started taking an
interest in songwriters and found that a lot of different songs I like by various artists were
in fact sometimes written by the same people. That made me realise that the composers
don't always get as much recognition as the songs !

I pay attention to everyone. I don't want any embarrassing miscommunications, especially in writing.

Yes.
I don't know who you are.
