How can you track down who is behind fake facebook profiles trying to add you and your friends?

I have gotten fake friend requests from random profiles that I have never heard of and many of my friends are on their friends list. How can I track down who is making these profiles?

Are the quality of life improvements that FB provides worth the time you spend dealing with such issues?

I love that expression "Facebook Friend."
It means a complete stranger you have never met face to face that has looked at your page.

There is a person on FB with my same name and all of my same friends and I don't think any of my friends know the difference because I very rarely post anything and neither does my poser. I don't understand what the point is.

there are ways and means of doing things, facebook are useless with stuff like that.

make a fake fb account and look into social engineering; can use that skill to advantage ,unfortunately am not able to say anything else as it woud be endorsing something illegal on wrong planet.
