I had a pet chinchilla for the last 9/10 years that died a couple months ago. I wouldn't go looking for another pet now but my girlfriend's sister Re may be getting rid of her guinea pig that she had for a couple years. She's not a very responsible & me & my girlfriend feel sorry for him. I had a guinea pig when I was like in like 5th grade but I gave him away after awhile because I was overwhelmed with school & hated being responsible but I grew aLOT sense then. I don't remember much about caring for him & know they're different than chinchillas & I know some members here have or had them so I'm posting asking for advice/tips & I'm doing my own research online to of coarse. He probably has something like fleas, ticks or mites & the like because he scratches alot(Re has a couple cats that probably have fleas or similar) so I could really use some advice on how to get rid of those nasty parasites.
