Does anybody here have any experience with training and/or handling therapy dogs.

My new dog (I got her from the animal shelter in December) is really smart and outgoing. The people at her doggie daycare/kennel are always commenting on how cute a friendly she is. They offer therapy dog training classes starting at about $100.00 for an 8 week course.

I need some more volunteer hours for my Social Work degree program and I'll have a bunch of field work/training coming up next spring.

I think it would be really cool and therapeutic for ME if I could bring her along...

I think it would be much easier for me to engage and build rapport with clients with her around.

That sounds like a wonderful idea.
