Are they a thing? If they're not, they should be. I never went to camp when I was a kid, and looking back, I really wish I would have given it a try. Maybe they'll come up with one specifically for aspies/auties? A man can dream...

they have similar things over here-they just dont last a whole summer, some of them are only open to autists with intelectual disability [or anyone with ID on its own], ones am aware of;
chrysalis,bendrigg,calvert trust and am pretty sure theres another organisation called mosaic who accept all forms of disability but cant find them on google and seem to have lost the leaflet [it came on a leaflet in a disability magazine].

perhaps its the sht weather why no one has taken advantage of long summer camps here yet,or due to complex needs of people which woud make it very difficult to transition there or back again after being away for a while,or the need for trained constant support staff-something that has a high turnover rate.

If you join the National Guard you can have a free two week "camp" vacation every year. A lot of it consists of booze runs and late night partying. Plus you have obstacle courses, weapons shooting and other splendid activities.

I was in boy scouts as a kid for a short time. We had a summer camp and let me tell you that you didn't miss anything. The NT kids be brutal and being stuck with them 24/7 and bullied most of the time was anything but fun. And complaining to the scoutmaster did NO good either he actually seemed to encourage it. While most went out hiking or other activities, they stuck me with cleaning up after the meal and the camp in general. Then criticized as it didn't meet their standards. I HATED it WORSE then school even. :(

Thinking about it now, I may be better off looking for a Canadian equivalent rather than trying to sneak into the American armed forces.
