I thought hospitals weren't supposed to garnish your wages and today I get a letter from the state threatening to do it if we don't pay it within ten days and we were going to pay it after we get our taxes and we have always paid our medical bills. But this time we got a $1400 one from having our daughter and they are demanding $210 and our budget has been tight and we just paid other bills. I thought my husband took care of it but I guess they want their money NOW and I was told by them it takes them a lot to send a debt collector after you so I had nothing to worry about. Now I get this letter. My husband said he will take care of it. I hate being lied to.

medical bills are the leading cause of bankruptcy in America. American keep voting for pols who perpetuate the bloodsucking medical system we have, keeping the bankruptcy lawyers busy.

the requirements to visit Canada or any other commonwealth nation-
*not so much as a traffic ticket on your record.
the requirements to be admitted for long-term residence in Canada [must have at least one]-
*>$500k net worth
*advanced university degree and professional credentials
*blood relations in country.

I, for one, don't qualify. :hmph:

I have visited Canada and have none of that stuff. Perhaps laws have changed?

The problem is any pol who has a chance of winning is probably being paid (through campaign contributions) by insurance and pharma before the election happens. You have NO choice=we're screwed.

America is running on fumes as it is, living on borrowed time. we have met the enemy and he is us. a critical mass of dumbth caused these pols to be elected time and again, each time inviting big business to carve more goodness out of the bowels of America until none is left but an empty husk.

I'm afraid they can. Happened to me once, and I'd assumed it was because the hospital was a county one, so the county government coordinated with the state government to get paid.

If you contact the sender of the letter you may be able to negotiate a payment plan. Sometimes they just want confirmation that you do intend to pay it off but need more time.

that is because you just visited, and I am guessing you've not had any legal infractions on your record.
