This is not another thread on Finnish grammar. Not even I know how it goes. However,

This cat of mine. Any time that I say to her a very emphatic No! she knows what I mean. She will not go to the balcony, where it is just me and the stars, between us and the galaxies. If she jumped to the woods... No. I canť imagine what would follow. -- Pardon my bad english.

Could it be your physical demeanour when you say "No", that she responds to?

What is the Finnish for "No", by the way?

:cat:

^ Ei.

Although the Finnish word for no kind of works like a verb which has to be conjugated depending on the situation.

If you are talking directly to the cat....then perhaps it would be: et.

I haven't learnt if Finnish has an imperative yet.

Krabo? :help:

By the way, cat in Finnish is: kissa 8)

There is no vocative case in Finnish which is strange. We have 16 of them. I don't know why this one is missing.

Nominative usually is the same as vocative in most indoeuropean languages, could be the case with ugro-finnic as well :)
