a house mate of mine last year got de-gloved(skin pulled off his hand) and was on the path of losing his hand and w/ the help of leeches he could save his hand and some fingers, then in the end his whole hand was saved! a year later looking at his hand you couldn't tell?

Centrolene charapita: with the yellow splotches on its back, this species was aptly named after little yellow chili peppers. Their hindlegs also had fleshy little zigzag-like protuberances whose purpose is unknown.

This discovery highlights the importance of studying alternative model organisms, and opens the way towards new treatments against bacterial infections.
