I will NOT let my poor social skills deter me from achieving what I want to achieve. Not in any fear or hardship.
I will NOT give up on life, ever. Good things happen, and bad things happen. Suicide is the short sighted way out.
I will be happy with who I am, and indulge in my obsessions when I feel like it.
I will try to socialise whenever I have an appropriate opportunity.
I will try not to be upset by loneliness.

Nice oath. I would add:

I will NOT let other people or social norms pressure me into socializing when I don't feel like it.

I think that's a good addition. My biggest issue with it as written was:

Wasn't sure quite what "appropriate" was addressing.

Sometimes, opportunities aren't appropriate. E.g, you have a big opportunity, but you just don't like the people that you could socialise with.

i really like the post, but also dislike, "appropriate opportunity" ....why? no benefit for me, but i can see the need for the challenge if you have a hard time making yourself do the social thing all the time...

Doesn't help when you have this backwards belief that every bad thing that happens is somehow deserved and that the world as a whole is against you... but thats probably just me. I'm in a good mood though.

Yes, it doesn't. Any other lines of the Oath to add?

I love your oath, I will have to save it somewhere for when my kids are older! :)

Good oath I think the phychiatrist should use it when diagnosing someone.

Not bad. But there are circumstances where suicide is appropriate. Getting diagnosed with a terminal illness that is going to be incredibly painful, for example.
