Well, obviously, I can't do the year 40,000, so I'll just pick out a random year and I just realized this thread's instructions too late to delete my post. I'm a history buff and all I saw was 'This year in history. . .' Sorry.

On June 18th, 1815, the Battle of Waterloo was fought between the once-mighty First French Empire and the Seventh Coalition. Emperor Napoleon Bonaparte fought his final battle and met his final defeat at Waterloo.
