not Lawrence welk but larry hooper, the guy that comes after welk's intro. I always wanted to have that lee marvin-esque basso rumbling growl. but I sound more like bill gates with laryngitis.

YES! it's grand and grave all at once!

I always liked Larry Hooper of the Lawrence Welk Show. I thought he was a very decent gentleman. He was also a good pianist.

I wish he wasn't a smoker, that cost him his voice too soon. but it undoubtedly contributed to the gravity of his voice just as it did with people like lorne greene and lee marvin, two other notable basso voices.

I like deep voices, but that's a little too deep for my preferences. The Beverly Hillbillies theme song is a good example of a range I like.
