Otherwise known as hypervelocity impact glass. It was formed almost 15 million years ago and what's so special about it is it comes in the most beautiful green colors. Glass breaks down after about a million years so anything you find is worth keeping. Does anybody here love Moldavite besides me? :)

I have adored Moldavite since I first saw it on the Internet....the natural, uncut pieces have a rippled surface I have not seen on any other natural stone...I like the dark olive green color.

Years ago, I could have bought a very large natural piece, wrapped with sterling wire, but I did not, and still regret that.
