This sounds like something I would have done to tick off my mother. I had to laugh at this.

I was like OMG and what ever happened to make the kid be that way and what did the mother and father do until I got to the end and I started laughing. This is something that wouldn't have crossed my mind because I never saw anyone else doing this. I had always learned things from other people and would copy their moves or behavior because I wasn't able to come up with my own.

I knew where it was going as soon as I read "elope with my girlfriend" because I have previously read the girl version of the joke.
I like it

That made me chuckle. It was wonderfully crafted.

Cheers

I would be terrified by the kid stupidity then laugh out loud when I realize it was not stupidity proof but an smart joke instead.

But I would still be angry for what I read so it wouldn't help the kid at all, in fact it would only make his situation worse. Even if the school record was not that bad itself (so far we don't know what the kid did at school) he would still get a serious talk about manipulating peoples emotions and why he shouldn't do it.

I hate when someone plays with my emotions and a letter like this could for example easily cause a heart attack if my heart was weak and I loved my son. Jokes like this are dangerous!

I just felt really relieved when I read the bit that said that none of this is true. Relief for the father, like some sort of happy ending. :)

Love it - wish I'd thought of doing something like this back in high school to give my parents maybe a little more perspective when they checked my grades online every week. My stepmom used to hit the ceiling if I made an A- in a class, can you believe it?
