Please help me with this song. Please, please, please.

I have this song that I have been trying to figure out for years now. I want to know what it is. I heard it back in the 1970s? It is driving me crazy lately as I have become obsessed with finding out what it is. I will give you the notes (for those of you familiar with keyboard) and use numbers after the notes (piano keys) so you will know what octave I am referring to. I am using approximations on the length of the notes to make this as simple as possible to get the tune. Slashes are used to divide the measures.

This is the general idea of the song. I have spent many hours the past few days in trying to find this song. I have used melody recognition programs, but to no avail. Thank you for any help here.

a dumb question but I gotta ask it- is there any way you could supply a snippet of lyric no matter how small? or maybe post yourself playing a major portion of the main melody on a keyboard or other instrument on youtube linked on WP? I'm sorry I can't be more helpful here, I have my own list of unanswerable songs that everybody thinks I'm crazy to think about.

it is a song ABC-TV used to play to accompany some ice skating pairs events broadcast on the wide world of sports, and the first few bars are almost identical to the alexander courage "Star Trek" [original 60s tv series] title theme. it is played on mainly piano and strings and was also used on a jewelry store commercial in the 80s. sory but it is an instrumental with no lyrics. thank you for your concern

nope, it is some piano and strings mushy thing that I like an awful lot, but for 3+ decades have not been able to find out what it is, despite playing it as best I can on the piano in music stores. wrote ABC for information and got no reply on multiple occasions. IMHO it should be illegal to play music without some kind of ID of said music. so many tv stations and radio stations play music without identifying it.

This one? Sounds like stock network news bumpers of the 70s and 80s - oddly enough this sounds very NBC-ish

that is the general wide world of sports fanfare, a golden oldie the ice skating theme I referred to occurred within the ice skating segments of the program, rarely.

Is it "Fleur de Lis" by Beethoven (my absolute FAVORITE classical music piece)----or, "Greensleeves" (aka "What Child is This"----"Greensleeves" is an instrumental, though)? I've heard BOTH of those during skating.

not either of those from what I could hear but thank you nonetheless the song is a waltz pitched in Ab, and roughly is described in the first few measures, as thus-

That's VERY common, on skating shows!!

It's a shame that you've been looking for it, for so long, cuz they started putting the name of songs at the bottom of the screen, on those skating shows----the only problem is that they don't leave it up there, during the entire routine.

that would be some speedy skating for sure! but unfortunately, the one I was looking for is on the slow side, probably an andante tempo. it is strings and piano, a waltz. the piano leads, the strings follow. the thing is, almost everybody hears just the first 3 bars and thinks it is star trek. one must listen to at least half the song to "get" it.
