I am going to make this post about my own personal experiences with shopping, from a male and female perspective.

MEN: Go inside, take a quick look around the store, and if you see anything you like, get it, go to the cashier after you've found anything, then get out. Simple as that.

WOMEN: Go inside, spend at least an hour drumming up ideas to get...... it may take a while to find something at times, but if you like it, get it. And then maybe browse around a bit longer.

MEN: Pack-minded hunters.

WOMEN: Herd-minded gatherers.

MEN: With Internet shopping, no need to even go to the shops now!

WOMEN: Find something you want to buy, but don't buy it just yet, search around every other single shop in the city just in case there is something you want to buy even more, then return to the first shop just before closing time to buy it anyway.

Every day, I find more and more evidence that, despite my body, I'm a man, baby.

The way I shop is actually quite similar to NT women, I just don't shop for NT women things. :

Women: Ooo, pretty sparkly jewelry = shiny ripe juicy berries in field.
Men: Woah, big plasma-screen TV = Big fat juicy buck in forest.
Me: Wow! New Monster High dolls! = Wow! New Monster High dolls!

When clothes shopping, most of the time I'm doing it to find something specific to wear (ie. maybe I need some sort of dressy top that goes with red jeans), I'll look around as many stores as possible taking note of anything that might suit, THEN I go through the shortlist trying them on and buying the one that makes me look the least fat.

The looking around part is usually done in my work lunch break at my own leisure, then I usually wait till thursday night shopping to try & buy. No man's patience is tested during the planning and purchasing of my outfits :P

I guess I'm not a very manly shopper. I take forever. Though a lot of that time is spent just trying to find things, or wandering aimlessly in confusion because I often find that it's hard for me to think when I'm in a store.

I'm not a very manly shopper, either. I'm an OCD shopper. I'm very indecisive and take forever to pick the best item out of many. But I generally love grocery shopping in a supermarket because there are so many interesting things to look at.

As someone else said, men are HUNTERS----they find it, and "KILL" it!! LOL

Women are gatherers----they find a little, here----a little, THERE----we don't want to miss, anything!! LOL

I'm a little of both, sort-of----a little bit "hunter", a little bit "gatherer", I mean. If I'm on a "mission" (hunt), I go to where I need to, to buy whatever, get it, and go-on. Oftentimes the very first thing I pick-up, is good----if I spend time to think about it, I might not ever get it, no.1; and no.2, it, most likely, will become entirely too arduous for me to make-up my mind.

There ARE, however, times when I just like to casually shop----to, just, see what I can find (gather). Too often, though, that results in me buying some crap that I TRULY do NOT need!!

My mother fell recently so I accompanied her to the supermarket to do her shopping and I got so wound up by the way she darted about either side of the aisle. I prefer to go up one side, down the other. :D

My way of shopping is something like a "Tracker / Hunter". First, I try to decide what I want to buy before even stepping out of the house. Then, I try to determine where to buy it, based on how much it costs and how easy it is to get there. Then I go to that place, locate the prey ... err ... product, purchase it, and take it home. Only if there is a better item right next to it will I change my plan. Satisfaction is almost guaranteed.

Oh, and I almost never take my wife with me, unless the car has a full tank of gas and we have the whole day ahead of us.

Well, either you are all wrong, or I'm male and my boyfriend is female.

I don't mind hanging around if no one else is around (other than the person I'd be there with).

If it's busy, I'll just get specifics and leave quickly.

(Shopping is nothing like hunting. Hunting is patience times a million.)
