First Frost

I've just been checking the weather forecast for where I live [Northern England] and it's possibly going to drop below freezing for the first time this autumn/winter. I'm wondering if any parts of the US or Canada away from the obvious warmer areas are still keeping above zero degrees?

NYC itself hasn't had a freeze yet; it went down to about 2 Celsius one night in October.

The suburbs of NYC have been below freezing, though.

Probably the same is true of Boston, Philadelphia, and Washington DC: city freeze-free; suburbs; already recording temperatures below zero Celsius.

We've had a couple of hard frosts, but this evening is expected to be our first accumulating snowfall.

Looks like I'll escape the frost this week.

The title of this thread, First Frost, just calls out for a poem, doesn't it? Very alliterative.

In Portland, the first frost was only a few days ago.
