About intercultural/interracial marriages:
Now, this is generally speaking based upon what I've seen in average, everyday people who have educated themselves and work hard: It seems as though if the guy is white and the girl is ethnic, the girl's side of the family seem to roll out the red carpet for the white guy. If the girl is white and the guy is ethnic, the guy's family treat the girl really badly. I guess there are exceptions but this is how things appear to me as an individual. It seems that if the woman is the outsider (culturally), she gets more beat up by the in-laws. I don't see the guys getting too much flack. Here's an example: There's is a Puerto Rican family living in my complex. They have 2 kids just recently graduated from college. Their son is with an anglo girl (No offense - just a description). He's happy but I always hear comments like, "Gringa, maricona, gorda, estupida ..." They make fun at her because she can't cook like them. How the heck is she going to cook like them!! This is a nice girl - I don't get it. Now, their daughter has an anglo fiance. I never hear any bad words about him. They're really putting the squeeze on him to marry the daughter. Sheesh.....

Another manifestation of misogyny perhaps.

It's pretty simple.

White male = top of the global socioeconomic status food chain.

White female = not prized as highly because they don't, traditionally, have the same earnings/status capacity as a male. They're just an outsider vs. a sought after asset.
