My parents and siblings are caring, and my parents very supportive and over protective.

However, when my grandparents were alive, they barely noticed my existence, and my siblings. my mother's parents would say every time they saw us, "you're aunt and her kids were here," and then go on and on about how smart they are, and they know how to dance, and we dont. and they're taller than us (why should this make a difference?) and they're better eaters (huh?) and they're fun to be around, which meant we aren't.

and my father's parents barely noticed us. and our aunts couldnt care less. My aunt always shrugged and did nothing when me and my sister complained to her that her little brat boy hit us for no reason, just because he could. (the one that's smarter and taller and a better eater).

How's your both neuclear and extended family?

Nobody's really sure who my father is, so I can't speak to that----BUT.....

My mother's side of the family: I have a BAZILLION relatives, and they are so crazy / messed-up that there's actually a holler, where we're from, that's named after them----it's not on a map, or anything like that----it's just something with which all the locals are familiar.
