Most of our pet names aren't too weird.
My uncle has a cockatoo named Wilbur, which would be fine, but Wilbur is actually a girl bird. We have a cat named Mouse; my aunt has cats named Skunk and Squirrel. (Although in her defense, Skunk did have skunk markings, and Squirrel does think he's a squirrel, right down to running leaps up anything vertical and then climbing up the rest of the way.) She also has a cat named Scarface (not because the cat has a scar, but because she cut my aunt badly when she was being rescued). (Actually, my aunt has over 16 cats at the moment. I don't remember all their names. Squeaker, Squirrel, Skunk, Tanika, Tom, Whitie, Blackie, Baby, Scarface... I don't remember the rest.) Our first dog (Duncan) was named after the street we lived on (Duncan Creek), but that's not a "bad" name, just an unusual inspiration, I guess.
Edit: Right, I forgot: my grandparents had a cat named Pickles and a dog named Gopher. Their dog now is named Whooper (after the burger) and their cat's named Esmeralda (but that was chosen by my immediate family, who had her first).
