I happened to mention to her once that I enjoy weed and even brought over some marijuana cookies once so now she thinks I'm a wake n' bake stoner. It came up in conversation when we were talking about a sleep aid what doesn't work that well for me and she said, "well, I've heard that can happen with as much recreational substance you take." I'm like, "huh?"

Also, she offered me an alcoholic drink once. I declined on the grounds that I don't drink alcohol. She said that she's found that people who are stoners aren't really big drinkers. I don't drink because I don't like alcohol, plain and simple and I don't consider myself a stoner though, I would consider it a badge of honor to be called one. I'd just need to earn it first.

I barely smoke at all, maybe once every three or four months. When I do get some, it's enough to make cookies with and that lasts a month and yes, I'll admit, when I have a supply of cookies, I'll sometimes wake n' bake but this is a very rare circumstance.

I mean, when and if it's ever legalized for recreational use here where I live, I'd be lit every day.

Judgmental people who jump to conclusions make very annoying friends. I would do the same thing to her, pretending like I thought she was a daily drinker and had a problem with alcohol. But you are probably way nicer than me.

Friends for me are a precious and rare commodity. I can take a lot, just not being lied to or about. I recognize that some people lie because it's an illness so I'll dismiss that. Being mistaken for a stoner isn't that big a deal to me. Big enough to mention here, sure. Just probably posting to see if anyone else has friends or acquaintances who whink things about you that may or may not be true.

My friends/acquaintances think I am a stoner....and well they are right. As for anything else I do drink alcohol(not regularly) and I like psychdelics and MDMA on occasion, and opiates(not including heroin, that is not something I plan on touching or even looking at ever) or adderall much, much more occasionally than the others.

Also as a rule cannabis does not cause sleeping problems....quite the contrary, for people who find smoking it makes them anxious or edgy I could see it interfering with sleep but that is not typical, so not sure where your friend got that idea.

It was that she seemed to think that the the THC in my system might be interfering with the sleep aid's effectiveness. I know that heavy pot smokers can sometimes develop a tolerance to some anesthetics.

I guess that is possible, but it doesn't sound like you are heavy enough of a smoker for there to be a consistent amount of THC in your system high enough to effect the sleep aids effectiveness.

Um, yeah, that happens to everyone. People tend to judge other people a lot and they'll believe any half-truth, semi-convincing lie, or misguided assumption that fits their judgement. I don't understand it, but it is what it is. Being a cannabis consumer myself I'd take much more offense to someone thinking I was an alcoholic than a stoner-- alcoholics have been around ~6000 years in western society whereas stoners are much newer and thus en vogue. Then again, if I were being perfectly honest I wouldn't care one way or another, I've been judged enough that I really just don't care what people think anymore.
