When I was really young, I was with my mom at a zoo. A lady was walking around with an Orangutan. I walked right up to them, and reached my hand out and began petting the Orangutan on the head. The near human creature reciprocated, and had this look in his/her eyes that said, "It's a tough life out there. I've experienced it first-hand. Be careful kid."

This experience has always had a special place in my memory, although I didn't realize just how powerful this was until recently. At the time, I thought it was cool and surreal. Peeling back the pages of life during one of many daydreams, I now have enough distance between then and now to see the bigger picture. The pages were filled with life's ups and downs, and when my memory approached that day at the zoo, I was able to remember what the Orangutan was talking about: Life.

The most beautiful creature in the world told me beauty isn't everything.
