My name is Will I'm 17 years old and I have a question. Both my mom and my dad are going to be out of town for a week and my mom is leaving me her credit card for groceries only, after they leave, there are groceries my house is going to need so I plan to either go to Target or Walmart but when I payed things before on my personal debit card I've been asked for and ID but then again I never used any sort of card at both Walmart and Target so my question is will Walmart or Target ask me for an ID because for one the card is not mine so I need to know soon so I can let my mom know.

Usually they don't check and you can sneak by, but if your signature on the receipt does not match the signature on the credit card, they can think you're using a stolen card and get into trouble. Your mom should just leave you cash.

If you scan your purchases in the self-serve aisle, all you need is the card-holder's PIN number to pay for your purchases. If the card is a debit card, you can usually choose "credit" when prompted and the money won't be deducted immediately from the debit account, but will be charged to the credit account for payment in 30 days or less.

I leave my daughter a credit card when I go away and she's never had a problem with buying groceries or paying bills. Cashiers don't usually ask to see cards nowadays, they just give instructions as you do the transaction yourself. You can also use payWave if you have that feature on the card.
