In my house, it would sound like a squeaking door, the sound Amigo the feral cat makes when it wants its breakfast, complaining, almost crying. it would also say, "Hazelnut, come here." my other cat.

not much, because I live alone and dont talk to myself. in my sister's house, it would tell my older nephew to stop bothering his baby brother.

Parrot would mimic me talking to my dog:

Is Jackie Dog a good girl??? Yes! She is a GOOD GIRL!

Jackie Dog want a cookie??? Yes! Good girl, you ate your yummy cookie!

Jackie Dog want a brush??? Good girl, a brush! Brush her beautiful brown fur!

Jackie Dog roll over??? Roll over for belly rubs? Good girl, roll over!

Jackie Dog go for a WALK??? <sound of dog whining in excitement>

Unfortunately, because I live alone and also talk to myself a lot --- and also go through a lot of frustration with a lot of things.......the parrot would say a lot of stuff like:

"What the f---??? Where did I put it? I just had it!! WHERE DID I PUT IT????"

"Where are my glasses??"

"Crap! Craaaaappp!"

"NOOOOO! f*****g Windows 8.1!! !!"

"NOOO! Get off my screen!! Not that! Not that!! !" (another Windows 8 thing....)

"Shut up!! ! Shut UUUUUUPPPP" (yelled at my TV while lunging for the remote control, when something LOUD suddenly comes on or happens)

Paints a sad picture but I go through a lot of this stuff. I literally must never get myself an African Grey.

in my house, it would have a top three list...

"don't answer that" ... regarding the phone or the door.
"quincy" ... my dogs name
"Yay, mommy's home!" ... it's how we greet the hardest working member of the house when she comes home late from work.

I live alone, and talk to myself, alot, too; so, a parrot would learn to say: "Oh my GOD, gimme a break", EXTREMELY quickly!

"Gala!" - name of my cat which I call very often. My 1 year old cousin learned to say it after spending 15 minutes in my house so I am sure a parrot would also pick it up fast. LOL
"Phone!" - because mom never hears her phone and we have to yell to let her know.
"Where is mom?" - the most common sentence I hear from dad.

Mine would say, "f**k! f*****g c**t! f*****g hell!" in my son's voice.

Then it would say, "Stop your swearing!" in my voice.

I once had a parrot, whom I bought in Bosnia, who could say "Give me candy, sergeant." I did. And I brought him into Finland, where he learned to sing "God save the Queen" in Finnish. It took me half a month to realize this bird outwits me. Ever since, be've been staring at each other.

interesting thread idea. :)

my hypothetical african grey would be imitating hysterical dog barks at cats, interspersed with vaccuum cleaner sounds and bits of hebrew and ESPN.

i would teach it to say,"help, i've been turned into a parrot!" other than that, it would say my cat's nickname and, "meow."

"Shut up, panget"
"P&#@%&!%@ mo po"
"Maaaaaa"

is likely the phrases that a parrot would say around my house. xD
