Who among us is blessed with a sense of agility that allows one to engage in skateboarding? Or maybe not so gifted but are a fan?

I've been taking a therapist's advice to carve out a time of the day that's just for myself, and in wanting to get back in good physical shape I've come back again upon an interest of the past, and got a secondhand skateboard, and signed up at a nearby skatepark. The equipment popular nowadays is in some ways better and some ways worse than when I was a complete beginner. Much more options for trucks, wheels and bearings but the popsicle decks are rubbish

I got on a skateboard once.

I also poured pepper into my mouth once.

I never did either again, for similar reasons.

I had an interest in skateboards when I was about 11-14. I wasn't terribly good at it, but I liked it back then. By 12 I had 3 cheap skateboards. My fave was my fishtail one that everyone else just laughed at.

I also liked the games Skate or die (NES) and Bad 'N Rad (Gameboy).

I've been meaning to buy myself a pennyboard, just a little something with a fishtail and truck nose to get around quicker and practice dumb '70s parlor tricks on. I love to skate, though I outgrew parks. Having teeth is nice, especially since I know how not to lose any in BMX parks where I exercise my gnarlier side. Bombing hills I can do, though I footbrake a LOT. I have a bonkers downhill longboarder friend who sometimes suckers me into driving the chase/camera car. I'll be keeping my sideways antics inside said car 8O  ...

I could barely even ice skate as a kid, and I haven't done so since I was maybe 12. I'm just posting because after reading this I got that Skate or Die song from the NES game stuck in my head. :)

I wanted one when I was a kid & when I got it I quit it shortly afterwards. I think the way I dress makes me look kind of like a skateboarder thou.

I did roller skating at my youth, and did really well even more than most of my NT peers. Because balance is my forte; if I slip, I only stumble but rarely fall. I even dream of trying ice skating, but then if only if I don't mind cold at all.

In skateboarding, I did well better than most of my peers (but not as much as in roller skating). But then, I never owned a skateboard; only borrowed some and it was a cheap version too.

I don't know now, I haven't skated for more than 10 years. But sometimes when the floor is slippery, I slide myself on the way for fun. (Even I had that one accident back when I was at 5th grade, it was one of the FEW times I ever fall from a slip) I still do it as an adult.

On the other hand, I'm not a fan of extreme sports or any kind. Or skating in general. But I prefer doing it instead of watching it. I like it when I feel that I'm in control of my movement.
