Sometimes when I'm thinking in my bed, I suddendly feel something reminding an heartbeat in my chest, even though it doesn't hurt and its on the right side. Also sometimes I feel a shiver throughout my whole body, or even a hand grabbing my shoulders. All of these hallucinations and sensations bring me back to reality in a really sudden way. Am I the only one experiencing this?

No, you're not.

I experienced them as a child & again a couple years ago and again a couple weeks ago when I accidentally "drugged" myself. Oh yeah, I accidentally "drugged" myself a few years back, too.

I've since learned that "night terrors" (as they're called) including the appearance of shadowy figures and the sensation that some dark presence is in the room with you, or touching you etc, are caused by salicylate acid sensitivity. (or similar acids)

Here's the remedy: Put epsom salts and water on your skin, especially the bottoms of your feet where you absorb more, and drink plenty of water. You could also make a lotion out of epsom salts as I've done, too. Or add them to a store bought lotion.

SA's are plants natural preservative and pesticide. They're sky high in GMO foods & concentrated herbs/oils. Also in wart/corn remover gels, acne skin cleansers, and some antifungals for athletes foot. A couple weeks ago I put some athlete's foot killing acid on my heel and then was having "night terrors" where I felt a dark ghostly presence tugging at my blankets and was getting freaked out... after an hour of this trying to get to sleep I was analyzing it instead and thought "this is exactly like the night terrors caused by salicylate acid sensitivity..." and remembered I had painted a different acid on my heel after scraping away some dead tissue. I realized I had poisoned myself and shot out of bed, washed my ankle off, put some epsom salts and water on my feet (and body) - you need the magnesium and sulphur to bind to the acids so you can urinate them out, ate a small pinch of epson salts and drank a couple of large glasses of water... I was calm and ready to go to sleep within 15mins, even without urinating yet.

I've read that 70% of people with ASD are sensitive to Salicylate Acids. And whether you believe this or not (I do, as I've lived through it all.), I've read that Naturopathic Doctors believe that SA sensitivity is caused by leaky gut, which is usually caused by candidiasis - intestinal dysbiosis.. literally an imbalance of life in the intestines - where yeast (there are ~26 strains of candida yeast) & funguses overgrow and perforate the intestines, causing them to leak food chemicals into the blood stream.. things like acids that then trip out the nervous system and our brains.

I've since spent the last couple of years or so cleansing my intestines via diet & herbal enemas, and reparing them with supplements, and repopulating healthy beneficial bacteria with tons of probiotics.. and the end result is not only have I fixed the acid sensitivity problem, but also digestive issues, and best of all I've reduced my ASD (and other, ie ADHD, OCD, Tourettes) symptoms by more than 95% to the point that I'm living a second life for it. Seriously.

IMO it's all been worth it & I'd do it again in a heartbeat... but I realize that MOST people just don't care about treating their autism symptoms to the extent that I do. So, at the very least, if you'd like to simply treat your night terrors.. get yourself a couple dollars worth of epsom salts and a glass of water and you'll be feeling better pretty darn quick. When I did my first major acid detox I experienced massive benefits in the first 5 days, then more as the weeks went on. You might notice changes in a matter of minutes, or it could take absorbing salts through your skin and drinking water for a few days or so before you really get a good nights sleep. Whether minutes or days, almost guaranteed this will help.

I usually see or hear things if I have any lack of sleep hallucinations....but sometimes I get the feeling of a bug crawling on me or something when nothing is there. Or at times I've been awoken by like a sharp pain like a bite almost a few times....only to find no mark anywhere I felt it happen.

I didn't realize at the time that the wart remover acid gel I was using on the bottom of my feet was drugging/poisoning me & causing the night terrors along with executive functioning problems etc. I only realized that in hindsight when I learned about salicylate acid sensitivity and thought back to the time when I had a bunch of warts to get rid of off the bottom of my foot. Then it made perfect sense why I was such a neurological wreck at that particular time. That was a few years ago.

Then again a couple weeks ago.. I used a different type of acid on my heel that's meant to kill athlete's foot. It was only when I had the night terror symptoms that I started analyzing and realized that I had just accidentally drugged/poisoned myself because the skin was very thin where I had scrubbed away dead tissue so the acid was getting into my blood stream and tripping me out.

So, there you have it.. accidental drugging/poisoning - it's a real thing and it happens. By accident.

I also get these tactile hallucinations; they are common enough that i can supress (and summon) them at-will, with almost no concentration required.

both of those skills are quite useful: being able to "conjure up" a squeeze vest or similar when you are stressed is a great feeling, and simply ignoring the tactile sensations of half-sleep dreams allow me to truly fall asleep without too much worries
